Re: The Ligotti Penguin Classics book - views from fans

The Penguin omnibus is absolutely fantastic. Like many other people, I was only able to read Songs of a Dead Dreamer and Grimscribe after Penguin reissued them.

Re: The Ligotti Penguin Classics book - views from fans

Penguin has generally been doing frigging great job in bringing various cult authors to masses.
Ray Russell, Charles Beaumont, Clark Ashton Smith (yeah, latter is not that obscure, but he was certainly not nearly as widely read and often reprinted as his two WT buddies, so that highly publicized Penguin edition was a p big deal)...
Looking forward to see what they do in the future on that front.

Re: The Ligotti Penguin Classics book - views from fans

Can anyone confirm if the versions of the stories used in the Penguin Classics edition are the same as the "definitive text" versions included in the Subterranean Press editions of Songs and Grimscribe?

Thank you.

Thank you.
I know there was another editorial pass, but there were no substantial story revisions as with the Sub editions.
