Re: My Greatest Sin
Mine are sloth and lust, if we take the seven deadly sins in consideration.

Your fall should be like the fall of mountains. But I was before mountains. I was in the beginning, and shall be forever. The first and the last. The world come full circle. I am not the wheel. I am the hand that turns the wheel. I am Time, the Destroyer. I was the wind and the stars before this. Before planets. Before heaven and hell. And when all is done, I will be wind again, to blow this world as dust back into endless space. To me the coming and going of Man is as nothing.

Re: My Greatest Sin
You can't have sloth and lust as your two greatest sins. At least not at the same time. Sloth precludes lust. Lust requires hard work. No slothful person is capable, physically or mentally, of being lustful. You have to be one or the other, or alternate between the two over set time periods. It's a bit like saying your two favourite directions are east and west. That's fine, but if you go in both those directions at the same time, you're going nowhere...

Re: My Greatest Sin
I am going nowhere most of the time, but I meant I alternate bewteen the two. When I am not being slothful, lust kicks in with a vengeance.

Re: My Greatest Sin
As a child I was horrible to my little sister. I hated her and we fought (physically) constantly. I never looked out for her at school and often bullied her myself. She did often call me retarded and spread rumours about me around School on account of my Autism. That doesn't excuse my behaviour in my eyes however.
I was also horrendous with my parents I stole food and money all the time. Had constant tantrums and was all in all a horrible kid. My upbringing was good and my parents are mostly good people, they didn't deserve what I put them through. In school I was bullied so I decided it was a good idea to use a racial slur against the perpetrator. She wasn't very nice to me but she was just a teenager going through her own problems and she didn't deserve that. Not to mention it goes against my own personal morals and standards for myself that I have now so strongly it horrifies me thinking about it. I am about to leave university with no job, no experience and very little to my name so I will soon be a burden on every taxpayer in the U.K and I apologise for this sin I will soon commit.

I abandoned my passion for the promise of security. In doing so I lost the former and never obtained the latter.

Re: My Greatest Sin
You guys are making me feel really terrible about myself, unless some of you are actually withholding your greatest sins.

"In a less scientific age, he would have been a devil-worshipper, a partaker in the abominations of the Black Mass; or would have given himself to the study and practice of sorcery. His was a religious soul that had failed to find good in the scheme of things; and lacking it, was impelled to make of evil itself an object of secret reverence."

Always better to withhold your sin as long as possible; it makes for a better climax in the end.

Re: My Greatest Sin
I mistreated a woman of rare qualities-- selfless, kind, sweet, naïve, and beautiful. She was dumb enough to marry me and I broke her. In turn, after 17 years of dealing with my narcissism and insecurity she has finally broken me. I'm now a nervous wreck, knowing that my wife no longer loves me and that I have three young children counting on us to keep our family together. I could have never imagined the true horror of all of this. As common as it is in this day in age, seeing your family, your marriage, your home, your life, everything you worked for-- fall apart, and knowing you're mostly to blame, is the stuff of nightmares.

Re: My Greatest Sin
I mistreated my last girlfriend something terrible. Nothing physical, but five years later it still haunts me every day.

Re: My Greatest Sin
Yes, to be clear, I have never been physically abusive with my wife. It's just that my insecurities have made me hard to live with and I eventually broke her. I don't feel bad for me, I did it to myself. But I do feel very badly about the way it has affected my wife and kids. This is all getting way too personal. I can't talk about my feelings with people, but I sure can spill my guts on the internet, ha ha ha.
