Re: TLO Member Interview: Odalisque
Odalisque, is your novel available in print. Also the Oh Whistle and I'll come to you my lad instantly reminded me of Coil's live masterpiece, "The Universe Is A Haunted House" off of their Live Four album. What were some of the stories in the Pan Book ov Horror? Great interview again gentlemen.

Re: TLO Member Interview: Odalisque
Thank you all.
I'm afraid not. A draft of it is on my blog, but the final version is significantly different from that. Both Des and I are willing to email chapters to interested people. I've sent the novel to a number of people on CD. I'm still trying to weed out typos, etc. -- so the versions in the possession of various people are slightly different from one another.Des' comments on the novel (and my counter-comments) may be read here: http://newdfl.bloghorn.com/237#Comments I think there's also a comment from Candy on the site. This thread is a good place to begin an exploration of the Pan Books of Horror Stories: http://vaultofevil.proboards75.com/i...ard=panspeople |

Re: TLO Member Interview: Odalisque
A little later, underground comic books had an influence on me, not always for the better. But it’s hard to disagree with Snappy Sammy Smoot’s observation that if you can’t come to live with reality, then reality will almost certainly come to live with you.
*** Ha! I thought I had imagined Snappy Sammy in some fevered dream--seeing you reference him, I looked him up, only to find out he was an actual comix character! Weird, eh? I can only suppose that i read him in my weird uncle's huge collection of underground comics when I was a teen. |

Re: TLO Member Interview: Odalisque
Thank you for this engrossing interview, Jimmy and Pet. It's always interesting to read those responses by other Ligottians.
Pet, you must have heard about hypnopompic hallucinations. This could explain your strange experiences upon awakening. |

Re: TLO Member Interview: Odalisque
Snappy Sammy Smoot was the creation of Skip Williamson and appeared in Bijou Comix -- Chicago's finest.
![]() And -- as an addittion to my Monty Python answer -- I didn't realise how often I referenced the show until I had a girlfriend much younger than me, who looked at me as though I was mad every time I said such a thing as no one expects the Spanish Inquisition. ![]() |
