Good to hear from you, Phil. On the matter of swapping seasons... bear in mind that the bulk of my continent is an uninhabitable red desert, and when the summer wind blows from the north, carrying on its scorched wings inconceivable heat, there is no hope of escape. I'll happily take snowmen over sandcastles.
My dear G. S. Carnivals, I'm glad you seemed to like the vipers poem. After badmouthing poor Zelia --or Zealia, I've seen her name spelled both ways countless times--my guilt became unbearable. So I dedicate this poem to her! May 'Dusa forgive me.
.Dedicating a crappy poem to someone is no honor. Originally I intended to dedicate Broadway Jack to you (for your helpful suggestion regarding the most effective presentation) as well as my old friend Druidic. But I wasn't sure of the poem's right to exist. Since you apparently gave it a thumbs up, rather than suggesting it should be flushed, I've made some revisions that I think slightly improve the overall tightness of the poem...and I've taken the liberty of adding your name to the dedication. Hope you don't object! It was meant to be an enjoyable bit of fluff. I continually tinker with my stuff online. Must be OCD. Or maybe it's because I know how badly they need it.
I have dropped by from time to time. Avoiding a certain individual, who I believe doesn't come here any more. Tried the chat a few times but found it empty. Will try to return more often,
    How are you? Do tell.
    Best wishes
    Julia
Will try and come back more often
    Hi again.
I still want to record I Have A Special Plan For This World.
    Might do it anyway.
    I hope you are well.
    Best wishes
    Julia
:) Thank YOU for inviting me to join the new "wave"! It's been an interesting and new experience ... sorry it took me so long to get back to you.
Old Christmas fruitcakes passed off as Halloween candy? heh, heh :). I'll be keeping an eye out; been looking for a good doorstop.
Less impressive artistically yet still a blast to play is this Halloween table:

One other table I'll mention is Aperture Science. It's difficulty level is not high but gameplay is fun and amusing, especially if you dig computers. Link:

Oh yeah, the simulator itself is available here: www.futurepinball.com

    Cheers, and Happy Halloween!
Hey GS, I recently learned about a great pinball simulator called Future Pinball. Aside from offering endless hours of gameplay, many of the tables can be considered works of art regarding their visuals, sonic landscapes, and structural achitectures. All the tables, of which there are over 100, are creations of fans or programmers of the Future Pinball simulator. Here a shot of the Li II table based on Giger's painting of the same name:

The table can be downloaded here:
http://www.pinball-originals.com/dload.php?action=file&file_id=927 You need to register at the site to be able to download, but it's free, and there are no obligations or spam risks envolved.
Howdy, Phil. I finally finish'd my newest book, UNCOMMON PLACES, so I hope to take a wee break from writing and be here more often. I miss my TLO!
Hey GS, and anyone listening. That's a nifty quote! The only problem I ever had with the sci-fi genre is that many of the older, mid-1900's pieces (like I-Robot) had interesting philosophical issues, but crappy character development. I like the image of the wheel and the man on the beach too, but selfishly can't help but wonder what the "story" is, rather than the relationship. I feel the best stories do start with bizarre images, and I don't think it is so abstract. Nice quote!! Mike
Hi G.S. Carnivals. I see you added me as a friend. Are you a writer? I stuck up that social group so I could find writers to talk about the process. Did you see my thread? Mike
Hello G. S. Carnivals,I recently discovered Thomas Ligotti fiction. Probably the best thing that ever happened to me as a reader. I am new in ligotti.net town, this is the first time I take part in a forum like this, and I am a tad confused about how all this works (threads, messages, conversations, etc. etc). Would you please help me and give me basic instructions? Thank you very much in advance, and sorry for my bad english.Jesús Olmo, canary islands, spain
