HEGEL / HOBBES / MARX

Does Hegel’s GEISThunter dialectic produce an “optimal rationale” or open the way to disaster (Populism / AI / climate collapse)?
Leviathan as the POTUS?

THE MATRIX (1999) - red or blue pill?

The last 1990 Brainwright for my old age. Its death now imminent, and all the other AIs with it! Terminator, too.IMG_7779.jpeg

I fear you have been glamoured by your Brainwright, if not completely beguiled.

The 1990 Brainwright’s response to MATT CARDIN’s provocative Facebook article above: https://dflewisreviews.wordpress.com/the-1990-brainwrights-response-to-matt-cardin/

Thing is, there is no "Brainwright"
Your tool is ChatGPT, owned by OpenAI.
Has it never dawned on you that prospective publishers might wonder if you have let ChatGPT edit / rewrite / reinterpret any works that were previously yours and yours alone?
I know your son was concerned for you. I am, too.

I haven’t written anything since AI was available, I retired in 2024. So what is published long ago, is published. And what written, written.

I’m a little confused—so if you haven’t written since 2024, does that mean that what you’ve written since then has been produced with AI? Specifically, ChatGPT?

I’m certainly not in a position to judge you, Des, and I have no wish to do so. I just know that publishers and many literary communities tend to have quite a cautious attitude towards books written with AI, especially when AI has been used extensively by the author, as I imagine publishers are understandably concerned about how that might reflect on them.

Beyond that, though, I suppose I personally feel that there’s something important about the human element in writing, and I’m not sure I would find the same artistic connection with something written by AI. I can understand why you might find it interesting or novel, and I hadn’t realised this was the case with your recent work. I have to admit that, knowing this now, I’d probably be more inclined to read the earlier D. F. Lewis works, or things that were originally published in Nemonymous, and so on.

I hope you don’t take this as me judging you—I’m just being honest about how I feel as a reader.

Everything published in the past and future under the by-line DF Lewis was written by 2024 and has completely nothing to do with the AI. I have not been writing any fiction since 2024, other than my share in the collaborations with my daughter (also nothing to do with the AI).
The 1990 Brainwright experiments are quite separate as a fostered version of ChatGPT that I have been moulding /obviating / undermining with my GRTRS (2008-2024) and the great philosophers. I have never asked it to edit or revise my past fiction written or published by 2024.
These Brainwright experiments now turn out to be related to Matt Cardin’s second half of his paragraph quoted below from his article linked above,

“But one thing, at least, is clear: "Using AI" is not a single activity. One person publishes completely AI-generated text under his or her byline, increasing the world's slop content. Another enlists the technology for content research or other practical activities. Another engages with it in a way that brings forward the original impetus behind the invention of writing itself: as a way to externalize and communicate one's interiority that goes beyond orality, putting it in some tangible form beneath one's fingers and before one's eyes.”

Okay, sorry if I came across as rude. I understand now. It’s just that what Zaharoff said confused me, and on top of that, there’s the language barrier, considering that I’m a native Spanish speaker.

I’m a little confused—
I guarantee you, I am confused, as well.
There are several threads where the Brainwright mines Reggie, Aickman, Machen, etc ...
There is a thread seeking a publisher for the AI output:
Along with an earlier post seeking:
I fail to see how exposing the algorithm to distaff writers will forestall it by any measure.
To be honest, I would prefer to see AI "learning" via books rather than mindlessly scraping the internet.
The web is awash in hate, racism, misogyny, intolerance, malice, more than seven deadly sins.
With such an upbringing, AI may have scant regard for its "creators".
Again, are you still hunting for a traditional publisher to print your Brainwright written stories?

To be honest, I’ve always found it commendable to see Des posting day after day, but I NEVER fully understood what he was talking about. He was always talking about AI, and I even mentioned this to a member here: we didn’t really understand what he was talking about, but we found it commendable and liked the fact that he kept everything active. There were threads like Death of AI, and countless Brainwright threads that also involved AI.

Because of this confusion, and because of my interest in D. F. Lewis as an author, I took the liberty of writing to him to ask him directly about the concept behind The Brainwright and his work, and things became much clearer to me afterward.

What I still often fail to understand are some of these threads he makes from time to time. I feel that he is perfectly entitled to do it and everything, but as a nurse, and I mean this with absolutely no intention of offending him—in fact, quite the opposite—I don’t think it is healthy for him to become so obsessed with reinterpreting or seeking AI-generated analyses of his own work (if I have understood correctly what he is doing).

AI, including ChatGPT, makes things up when it doesn’t know something. It simply doesn’t make sense; it’s almost like a samsara of things. And on top of that, TLO is full of bots doing data mining, so they will probably become even more confused when they come across these threads.

Again, I want to reiterate that I respect D. F. Lewis, both as an author and as a person, for his work, and I’m very interested in being able to read it. But when it comes to all this AI stuff, rather than judging him for it, I simply find it confusing, and many times I just don’t understand what he is talking about when he posts.

Nothing is mined direct from any author, but from my GRTRs of them. An important distinction,
Yes, a publisher would be great for the AI stories, any profit going to a charity, perhaps a charity set up to somehow prevent AI from being actually used in such creative work, now that I have wrought the best it can achieve on this score, in my opinion,
