Favorite X-Files Episodes

It is a pity that Crampton never made it into production. I can’t help wondering what it might have looked like on screen, especially given how much of Ligotti’s atmosphere would have fit seamlessly into early X-Files.

Since we’ll never get to see it, I’m curious: what are your favorite episodes of the series?

My personal favorite is Squeeze (Season 1, Episode 3). For me, it’s one of the most memorably unsettling episodes of the entire show — true nightmare fuel that has been stuck with me for years.

Folie à Deux - it's not necessarily my favourite but it reminded me a bit of Ligotti's corporate horror stories.

Probably "One Breath" (S02E08), with Scully comatose.
An emotional episode indicating how fragile relationships are.
Scully's tenuous state, caught between worlds, still haunts me.

731, Anasazi, Folie à Deux, Home, Humbug, Little Green Men, Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man, One Breath, Paper Clip, Squeeze, Terma, The Blessing Way, The Field Where I Died, The Pilot, Triangle, Tunguska, among many others.

The only one that disturbed me was Home, which was apparently inspired by a real event described in Charlie Chaplin's biography.

My favorites were Home 2nd episode from from season 4 and Field Trip which was the 22nd episode from season 6. The first, as indicated by the last post, was quite disturbing, and the 2nd was a good mind F. Tooms from season 1 episode 21 was pretty creepy as well.
