Aeron Alfrey: Limited Edition of Noctuary Prints Now For Sale

Available now is a limited edition of 100 prints of the cover artwork for Thomas Ligotti's Noctuary. I chose the concept of The Tsalal, found in several of Ligotti's stories, for inspiration. The ‘pervasive shadow that causes things to be what they would not be’ or the ‘all-moving darkness that makes things do what they would not do.’

This print is absolutely brilliant. I've been impressed with Aeron ever since I saw his work on the Centipede Press Lovecraft Retrospective and he has blown away every single cover for the last three Ligotti reissues. He is truly a master.

When the first Ligotti festival convenes, you, Tim, and Kevin should pack up your collections and put up a display. That would definitely wow the crowd.

While I enjoy all of Aeron's covers, I think he knocked Noctuary out of the park. A true piece of art that would bring Ligotti to mind even if I saw it divorced from the book and viewed it at a gallery. It reminds me of TL's themes of "a Greater Darkness" and the uncanny inherent in his puppet stories.
