Tarshishim boxed set

Dear all,

I hope this post finds you well. I have decided to start culling my book collection, beginning with Tarshishim by Ron Weighell (Ex Occidente). Before listing it on Ebay, I thought I would see if there are any interested parties here. If you would like more details or wish to hit me with an offer, please send me a message.

Regards,

Maybe not the right place for this question, but were the contents of this boxed set ever reprinted, perhaps in Weighell's collection Summonings? I haven't seen a good answer to this question anywhere.

Short version: A good chunk of what's in Tarshishim is in Summonings but not all of it.

Long version: Summonings has about half of what is Tarshishim but not in a direct way. "Tears of the Gods" is in both but Summonings has a significantly reworked updated version. Both are good and I love both for different reasons. They do not read like two completely different works but like two different perspectives of the same idea. "Suburbs of the Black Lyre" is one part (about a quarter) of a longer work (it's literally the other half of the box set of Tarshishim but in single cardstock with print on both sides that's just lovely) titled: "Summoning of Ancient Dust, Journal Notes," which is beautiful. (I also find it deeply ironic that Summoning of Ancient Dust didn't actually make it 100% into Summonings.) As with all of the Passport Levant series the aesthetic alone is worth the search for the piece. I'm a massive Weighell fan so hunted for it for several years (thank you Ziesings!!!) before getting a copy. So if you are a die hard Weighellian I would say it's a must have. If not, Summonings gives you a good representation of not the material in Tarshishim but the Spirit of what Weighell was trying to accomplish with the Tarshishim set, if that makes sense. Hope this helps.

Hi,
I just joined this board as I was searching for Tarshishim and this came up.
I'm not familiar with how the board works but it appears there were two in this thread for sale.
Please let me know if there's a copy available.
(I did start reading Ligotti back at the beginning but haven't really kept up.)
Thanks!

Same (although I’m even later)

There are a few of us here searching for Tarshishim. I'm fairly certain that Des' copy upthread is already sold.
Oh I didn’t even realize it was Des posting. I’ve bought a ton of stuff from him lately. Don’t think this is still around either

Hello, all. Apologies for the late reply. By which I mean three years late. I seldom frequent online groups, forums, etc. these days, so I completely forgot to check in. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I still have my copy of Tarshishim, which I may be persuaded to part with, along with some Ex Occidente and other books from around the time. So please feel free to hit me with a message. Cheers!

Can you DM me some prices for the stuff you have?

Hello there! Thanks for the comment. At the moment, I am still working out what I will be selling, and for how much. I will contact you and anyone else who expresses interest in due course.
