Site Upgrade Details - Major Code Revisions

The core engine for TLO has been upgraded. This was a major code revision and there are likely to be small bugs to be worked out in the coming days. As a whole, there will not be too many surprises. The bulk of the revision is within the database and administrative sections, allowing for a more robust control structure and superior security.

Current members must input additional security information before being allowed to log back in. This is normal. I do advise that you clear your browser cache, if you know how to do so. Everyone has been switched over to the Dial-Up style until the Broadband style can be adapted. The new system will allow for additional styles to be developed, including the old TLO Corporate color scheme, if anyone should recall it.

I have elected to go live with this revision, therefore it is very important that I am alerted of any errors encountered. There are quite a few layout revisions which need to be re-created, and I am aware of these for the most part. You may send me a PM, reply to this topic, post an alert in ShoutBox or email comments to tlo@ligotti.net. Once this revision is tweaked to good measure there are many new features I can begin to integrate. My work is not yet done, after all.

We are in agreement, as I use right click quite often. This was a surprise to me, I must say. Barring there being an inherent security risk or the solution wholly eluding me, I will amend this soon.

Your preference to having a separate window open for viewing topics sparks my interest. I do have the capability of maintaining the entire left column of the main portal throughout the individual elements, meaning you could still view and access the the menu, recent topics etc. The negative impact would be less horizontal room for viewing content. Perhaps I should run it in said manner for a few days and get poll results so that everyone can input on the choice.

Apparently, the right-click works when using the Broadband style, but the Corporate style and the Dial-Up style don't allow it for some reason...or have you fixed that one? Thanks for all the work you're doing to keep the site functioning well, by the way!

There have been numerous options added to the various sections of the menu. I encourage everyone to seek them out and have a go.

The Right-Click restriction has been removed from all styles. Please note that the left column panels will appear within the new window as well. I am researching methods to allow members the option of displaying these panels, either by settings or switching (as with styles).
