'The Nightmare Factory' for sale

Bought for $80 USD three months ago only to find another copy at a school book-fair for 20 cents.

Copy is ex libris but tidy, spine intact, usual library markings, unlaminated. A few light marks/tears on cover - I can provide interested people with photos. Hoping to sell for maybe $40 USD.

Just PM me for more info.

Peace out from New Zealand,
Simon

20 cents? At a BOOK FAIR???

Astonishing! I'd keep both copies, one for the story value alone.

I second that! I have two copies; one in pristine condition and one that I've carried around for years -- my "field copy" and occasional "loner copy". Like a pusher, I deviously use it to get others hooked on Ligotti. The cover is extremely well thumbed and has a cloth-like texture. The spine is nearly white from countless creases. No gentle loving here. Surprisingly none of the pages have become loose. Carroll & Graf made a binding to withstand even the most rabid fans. Too bad they used such cheap paper. Each time I open the book I can smell the wood pulp slowly digesting itself.

Re: 'The Nightmare Factory' for sale

I wish I would have happened upon this site before I ordered my copy off Ebay. Could have saved some money. 20 cents! Remarkable! I was hoping for such a rare occurrence but one did not happen.

Perhaps the current economic woes will encourage the less informed to unload their Ligotti stock at garage sales and bazaars for a pittance. , but probably . The glass is half empty, but watch the skies. Watch the skies...

"What does it mean to be alive except to court disaster and suffering at every moment?"

Tibet: Carnivals?
Ligotti: Ceremonies for initiating children into the cult of the sinister.
Tibet: Gas stations?
Ligotti: Nothing to say about gas stations as such, although I've always responded to the smell of gasoline as if it were a kind of perfume.

Blah! Picked up a copy off of Ebay, but it was certainly not in the "Very Good" condition it was described as. I think I will return it. Errrrrr!

I REALLY want that book -- but the only copy I've seen is a pb edition with an introduction by Poppy that is selling for $80 -- and so I'm waiting. Here at TLO I just stumbled upon a book I've never heard of, THE AGONIZING RESURRECTION OF VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN AND OTHER GOTHIC TALES, and all of the titles sound so tantalizing that I really want to get it. I'm trying to remember if those were among the wee tales that Jessica published in FANTASY & TERROR or FANTASY MACABRE -- in an issue that has somehow vanish'd from my box of wee zines and chapbooks. Does anyone know if the tales in VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN will be among the titles reprinted by Subterranean Press?

Re: 'The Nightmare Factory' for sale

I'll put it out there that this is one I'd really like to read. The prices are astronomical, and I'm no cheapie. I would feel better if spending $300 on a book went to Mr. Ligotti instead of Mr. Aftermarket.

I'd also love to see the Ligotti works make it to the digital realm. It would be nice to be able to access them at those unique times without carrying around the gorgeous limiteds.

And, if anyone has any Ligotti for sale, let me know.

Re: 'The Nightmare Factory' for sale

As of right now, tales from TAROVFAOGT will not be part of the works republished by SP. I know others have asked the same question, mostly because the originals, whether PB or HC versions are so pricey and largely unavailable anyway.
