There is something fascinating, I think, about the strange 1950s pictures in my album. This was taken in my back garden (at the Leighfileds Road house you visited in the 60s). I'm the one dressed as a red indian.

Thank you for the lovely odalisque picture.

I believe that the picture below (of me and my little sister) was taken on a caravan holiday on the Tendring peninsula (during the first half of the 1950s). My parents always referred to the place as "Little Holland" -- but that name does not seem to be marked on any map.

It was a large caravan site -- the bike and weird snail-thing (on which my sister and I are mounted) were the property of the site. Interesting that little sis has selected a proper bike (albeit with stabilisers) while I've gone for the snail.

Thank you! It'll save me from having to cart my valuable DFL Special in to work to scan.

I've been thinking that the Dave Carson thread isn't the ideal place for Bailrigg photos. I think that I may launch a thread for the DFL/PFJ connection, maybe call it "Etepsed". Perhaps you could scan the article I wrote for the "Dagon" magazine DFL special -- and post it to the projected "Etepsed" thread. What do you think? The article would save explaining a number of things all over again.

    Hullo, Des:--
Are you ye notorious D. F. Lewis, Esq., whose prose style is so rich and whose imagination is so wealthy? I have long admir'd your work and am happy to link with ye at last. I've just try'd to hook Bob Price up with a publisher who is interested in publishing a revival of Crypt of Cthulhu, if Bob (whom I see every year at ye HPL Film Festival) is interested in returning as editor, Wouldst not be cool? Best wishes, my brother in prose, --wilum

Hullo luv:-- I see you're from ye U.K. I haven't check'd all of ye members &c, but I had a feeling there wou'd be more of you from ye British Isles. Perhaps it's my prejudice, but I felt that the British soul could somehow relate to Thomas and his work moreso than Yanks. I see the British as more literate, more cultural -- the land of Shakespeare and all of that. Ligotti's work is so literate and intellectual, it amazes me that Americans fully appreciate it -- although this site has proven me wrong on that count. yr obt sevt, wilum
