Jorgen Mahler Elbang

In 1995 Danish artist Jorgen Mahler Elbang made his debut at the acknowledged censored exhibition “The Artists´ Autumn Exhibition” in Copenhagen, and has since been exhibiting regularly both home and abroad. His art has been shown in the exhibition Visionary Art touring several regional galleries in Australia with the likes of H.R. Giger and Ernst Fuchs, and at the Williamsburg Art and Historical Museum, Brooklyn, New York. Elbang works have appeared on cd-covers too and lately he illustrated an H.P. Lovecraft anthology. International journal Art Visionary also brought a major feature on him. Elbang is by many considered to be among the latest wave of fantastic realists.

“I want the spectator to have an experience. Even if a person walks away from one of my pieces in a catatonia shock shaking his head in disbelief, I feel I have achieved something. People just pass by if something doesn’t affect them.”
