Every year the nonprofit LA theater
The Cinefamily has a massive Halloween celebration (mainly because they first opened their doors 6 years ago in late October). This year's festivities included a multimedia performance by the musician Ariel Pink called "Darkened Corridors" with music, dance, and poetry, all slathered in a layer of ambient distortion.

I frequently volunteer for The Cinefamily when they have a huge function. During the party set-up yesterday I overheard chunks of the lyrics Pink was preparing for the show and thought they had an extremely Ligottiesque quality to them (there was even a line about knowing no one, doing nothing, and going nowhere). After the show I asked him if he had heard of Ligotti's work. Not only had he, he's read
Conspiracy Against The Human Race (but strangely enough none of Ligotti's fiction[!]) and used it to seek the other pessimistic works Ligotti refereces in
TCATHR. If Pink brings "Darkened Corridors" to another venue near you, consider checking it out.
