Re: Reggie Oliver

My copy of Dramas from the Depths finally arrived today, and is it ever a beauty! It was well worth the wait, and I'm so impressed with it that I'm only slightly irritated that the border banged me up with customs on it. I didn't realize it contained all of his stories. For some reason, I thought it only included the contents of his first three books. Anyhow, it is nice to have them all his currently available works in one place. I can see myself going back to this volume again and again for years to come.

I was surprised to see content from Madder Mysteries, too. Those who pass on buying this massive omnibus now will be sorry later.

Tibet: Carnivals?
Ligotti: Ceremonies for initiating children into the cult of the sinister.
Tibet: Gas stations?
Ligotti: Nothing to say about gas stations as such, although I've always responded to the smell of gasoline as if it were a kind of perfume.

Re: Reggie Oliver

Fourth week's starting since the package was sent and still no sign of my copy.

Fantastic to hear about the content extra, even though I already have Madder Mysteries. This omnibus has to look amazing.

It's been a long time since I've been looking forward to a book with such enthusiasm, so I really hope to see it soon.

Mine is yet to arrive too. I reckon it's the ash cloud. I hope it's the ash cloud. A lot of mail have been severely delayed from that.

Absolutely. After discovering the book's existence and reading the comments in this thread, I ordered a copy of Dramas from the Depths, even though I'd only read a few of his stories and couldn't exactly afford to spend so much. I received the book this morning. It hardly needs to be said again, but: this is a gorgeous volume, well worth the cost even though it's the most expensive book I've ever purchased. (Given the subject of this website, I suppose I might mention that the second most expensive book I've ever purchased was Ligotti's Death Poems, and coincidentally I ordered it through the same bookseller, Camelot Books and Gifts, which I can heartily recommend if you're looking for rare supernatural fiction and prompt, high-quality service.)

Mine arrived I few weeks ago, by the way. Just finished reading the stories I hadn't already read. A marvellous volume.

Re: Reggie Oliver

My copy arrived about two weeks ago. It's a huge gorgeous volume. It's actually so big that I still haven't managed to transport it from my gf's place, so still no opportunity to read any of its contents. The book arrived in perfect condition with some awesome treats.

Could you (or another) post a picture of it here, in due course... ? Fortunately I still have the pleasure of reading 'Dreams Of Cardinal Vittorini' before me!

Re: Reggie Oliver

I think someone else might be quicker than me. The next time I will have access to this book will be in 2 weeks time. Anybody?

This was taken with a cell phone, so the quality's not great and it fails to capture the elegance of the actual book, but it gives an idea of its size as compared to an ordinary hardcover, and may be of interest until someone who owns the book and a better camera can bring the two together:

I can take another shot from a different angle if anyone wants.
