Berberian Sound Studio

I saw this on New Year's Day. There seems to be a difference of opinion between those who think the film is straight out great, and those who think it goes off at the end (also some others who clearly were looking for gore and were disappointed there was none). I knew of this division before I saw the film, but was pleased not to be among the disappointed. I think a lot of people just can't bear things that aren't linear, but I imagine that people who appreciate, say, Robert Aickman, should have no trouble with, and will likely enjoy this film.

Absolutely candid, carefree, but straightforward speech becomes possible for the first time when one speaks of the highest." - Friedrich Schlegel
