On occasion I check the HTTP Referrers listing for
TLO to see where the web traffic is originating from. For instance, this shows how many site hits are originating from a Google search or a specific link from an external web site. I sometimes trace these back out of curiosity, as I did recently when I noticed the label "StumbledUpon".
I found
StumbledUpon to be an interesting browser feature which facilitates random site generation and can be customized to user interests. It is a free browser toolbar which is guaranteed not to utilize adware or spyware. I have found it to be highly addictive. A rating system and online community is also featured, though you can limit your activity to random browsing if you wish. Rating a site as positive apparently increases the probability of it being randomly presented to users. If you install the toolbar be certain to go to the home page of
TLO and click on the StumbledUpon option "I like it!". The proliferation of
TLO votes could in turn introduce new readers currently unfamiliar with Ligotti.
Have fun, but don't forget to come back to
TLO!
