The Longest Night
Our Lady Dreams within her Room,
A dull and silent, book-lined Tomb.
She curls into her reading chair
And twists the corners of her hair.
Northern Nights, Nicole.
Northern Lights, the Soul.
The curtains give a shiver-shake,
The Timepiece sounds a sigh;
They knew it was the Longest Night.
The Candle would not lie.
Northern Nights, Nicole.
Northern Lights, the Soul.
The snow adorns the Pine cones.
The frost writes on the glass
Through which she sees the Ghost Parade.
Now down the lane, they pass.
Northern Nights, Nicole.
Northern Lights, the Soul.
She recollects in solitude
A face without a name,
Then through the Willow by the Road,
A soothing moonbeam came.
Northern Nights, Nicole.
Northern lights a Soul.
Written on the longest night and published here last.
