For some reason I am not crazy about the title, but the story description sounds great.

Looks a little like the calligraphy from the Durtro edition Teatro Grottesco

Re: Tartarus Contemporary Fiction Series

Next week sees the Tartarus Press publication of Black Horse and Other Strange Stories by Jason A. Wyckoff.
Jason is a new American author, writing in the tradition of the spooky/strange story, although his work is very contemporary. This is his first ever venture into print, and (of course) I can recommend it!

I haven't posted any other Tartarus Press news in this thread for a while, so just for those who don't know, since Frankenstein's Prescription by Tim Lees (in the previous post), we have also published in the Contemporary Fiction line, Five Degrees of Latitude by Michael Reynier, and Mrs Midnight by Reggie Oliver. We've also reprinted as paperbacks Mrs Midnight by Reggie Oliver and Morbid Tales by Quentin S. Crisp.

Re: Tartarus Contemporary Fiction Series

Just received my purchased copy of 'BLACK HORSE and Other Strange Stories' by Jason A. Wyckoff - it looks wonderful.

I've recently read Black Horse; my review can be found here. Overall I found it to be an enjoyable collection, and look forward to seeing further work from an author who is especially good at ambiguous/mysterious/psychological tales.

Re: Tartarus Contemporary Fiction Series

I agree Brendan; Wyckoff did an excellent job coming out of the gate with his first collection. Would love to see more from him in the future. Also, much appreciate the review; don't know many reviews done of this book at this point.
