Ligotti Presentation and Reading of The Shadow at the Bottom of the world
I can't wait! This Saturday at 1:30pm in Dunnstown, er, Mobile, Alabama! I'll be introducing and reading one of my very favorite tales. Here's the presentation description in full: Click here to purchase your tickets to the Festival, which is appearing here for the first time but is always something special.
"Thomas Ligotti is a master of a different order, practically a different species. He probably couldn’t fake it if he tried, and he never tries. He writes like horror incarnate.”

Re: Ligotti Presentation and Reading of The Shadow at the Bottom of the world
Your essay on liminal spaces in The Shadow at the Bottom of the World actually inspired me to write the intro. I quote you in it. A lot of the intro compares Ligotti's story to HPL's "The Colour Out of Space," which feels like its direct literary ancestor.

Here's the whole thing minus a line or two of the story itself. Please excuse the sound on and off for the first ten or fifteen minutes. I was competing with a film showing next door.
