Re: Harry O. Morris

I order'd one as well, and am looking forward to it. I was a huge fan of Nyctalops (for which the very young me wrote some reviews that now mortify me), and Harry did some art for my Centipede Press collection. This is going to be a fabulous book!

"We work in the dark -- we do what we can -- we give what we have. Our doubt is our passion and our passion is our task. The rest is the madness of art."

Re: Harry O. Morris

I am glad to see that people are buying the tome. Harry was really worried that "no one would be interested" in the book, being the really humble guy that he is. I have been an avid collector of Harry's work for many years and cannot say enough about his talent and how important his work is, not just as stand-alone art but in terms of being an unofficial, artistic, visonary spokesperson for Tom's work. Harry is such an inventive and creative force that he was doing things no one thought to do many years after he did them, and for anyone that has followed him, they've watched an incredible metamorphosis that keeps Harry's work as relevant as ever. Not only that, but he's a super nice guy and deserves all the accolades he recieves.

I might just bump the thread from time to time to remind those who do not know of this seminal collection.

Brilliant, ridiculously talented man but insane if he thought no one would be interested. I absolutely love his work. Like Ligotti, he is VASTLY underappreciated outside of a dedicated circle. Morris is a genius. I've been waiting for this volume from Centipede for forever.

Re: Harry O. Morris

I told him the same thing, but like I said...he's very, very humble. In my opinion, the Harry O. Morris Artist's Portfolio is long over-due. Not only that, but for what you are getting, the price is almost unreasonably low. I don't even know how a book so loaded with that caliber of art by such a prolific artist can be produced and sold for such a price can make any money, especially when you consider the quality of Centipede's output. Some of the finest books available, without a doubt, not that that's any great revelation to those who own them.

I'll bump it for a while to keep it visible. Don't bitch about it... ;)
